The Teatro alla Scala in Milan is among the world's most famous opera houses. Most of the greatest singers of the past 200 years have appeared here. It was inaugurated on 3 August 1778 and was originally known as the New Royal-Ducal Theatre alla Scala.

La Scala's season traditionally opens each year on 7 December, Saint Ambrose's Day, the feast day of Milan's patron saint.

The NSPCC is the UK's leading children's charity, preventing abuse and helping those affected to recover. They help children who have been abused to rebuild their lives, protect those at risk, and find the best ways of preventing abuse from ever happening.

The fact they’re independent – relying on our supporters to fund their work – means they can push for change when others can’t. They have remained committed to their mission for over 100 years and as long as there’s abuse, they will fight for every childhood.
