Smile House Fondazione ETS
Smile House Fondazione ETS is a Third Sector organization operating nationwide that provides — through diagnosis, surgery, training, and research centers known as “Smile House” — multi-specialty and complementary care alongside surgical treatment for children and young adults affected by cranio-maxillo-facial malformations, with the aim of promoting their social inclusion and safeguarding their physical and psychological well-being.
Our approach goes beyond surgical intervention: patients are supported throughout a comprehensive care pathway that begins in the prenatal phase and continues through their growth, thanks to the involvement of a multidisciplinary team of specialists including plastic and maxillofacial surgeons, anesthesiologists, pediatricians, dentists, orthodontists, ENT specialists, nurses, speech therapists, and psychologists. The goal is to ensure complete and continuous care, accompanying each patient through the key stages of life and fostering full social integration.
At the core of the Smile House Project is the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Italian Ministry of Health in 2008 and renewed in 2022, which defines the institutional and strategic framework of the national Smile House ETS Network in Italy. The Smile House project represents a best-practice model that, through the establishment of care centers (hub and spoke), guarantees high-quality specialized services throughout the country, helping to reduce healthcare migration between regions.
The Foundation also promotes scientific research, technological innovation, and specialized training, and organizes advanced training programs in collaboration with universities and affiliated research centers.
