Fondazione Europea per l’Anemia Diamond Blackfan – ETS

The European Foundation for Diamond-Blackfan Anemia – ETS (FondazioneDBA) promotes, selects, and funds advanced research projects aimed at improving both the life expectancy and quality of life of patients, and ultimately curing DBA.

The European Foundation for DBA carries out scientific research not through its own laboratory, but by establishing partnerships with Italian and European universities, with the goal of developing new treatments for Diamond-Blackfan Anemia.

Diamond-Blackfan Anemia is a rare and still relatively unknown disease. Discovered in the 1930s and now classified as a rare genetic disorder, it is a chronic form of anemia that affects children within their first year of life.

The European Foundation for DBA – ETS was established to reach all individuals in Italy affected by Diamond-Blackfan Anemia, to advance research, provide support, and share experiences—because some challenges are best faced together.
